I know this must have been giffed a thousand times by now, but I wanted my say in this scene.

This was the moment, I think, when Martin Freeman became my favorite actor.

The man is brilliant, no question about it. I think Sir Ian McKellen once said something about him being able to convey two thoughts at once. Thats something I admire in acting, because you can see so many different things at once, and interpret it in many different ways. Martin excels at that here. He is thinking not just two, but a million things. Not like thoughts of knowledge like Sherlock and his deductions (not that that isn’t amazing as well), but with his emotions. Confusion, loss, betrayal, hurt, love, hopelessness; no matter what emotion I always see more than one.

Im not an expert at this stuff. All I know is that in any emotion driven scene Martin is in the power behind it stays, even when I watch it over and over and over again. It stays with me and I cant help looking back and seeing if I missed anything, if I could catch anything else in his performance. He’s like a living, breathing novel. Which is Ironic considering how many roles from books he plays. I must be repeating myself, but I cried so hard in this scene. And its not just Martin. It’s also the directorial choice of cutting off the sound at the moment we, as the audience, wanted to see the most between him and Dawn. We will never know what they said, or even try to because I can’t even read the lips. Thats for the best, because it made the moment personal and intimate like it should be. They shy you away just enough so you cant see, yet show you everything at the same time.

Tim’s final look killed me, absolutely crushed me. Made me feel as hopeless as he did. Yet you can see the bitterness behind it as well, like he’s upset with Dawn for choosing Lee, and/or that the camera crew followed him. Yet again two thoughts.

The Emmy is highly deserved, in my book.

So, to defend ourselves, and fight against assimilating this dullness into our thought processes, we must learn to read. To stimulate our own imagination. To cultivate our own consciousness. Isn’t it amazing how nobody ever listens to Elrond

Elrond’s like that one guy in all the movies and shit who’s just ‘don’t do the thing’ and everyone else is just ‘Shut the fuck up. What do you know?!’ and then later on it turns out they shouldn’t have done the thing..

Elrond would survive a horror movie

Elrond has already survived several horror movies.

Damn straight.

Elrond is Cassandra

why do height differences in shipping always have to be about one being really tiny and the other being really tall. what about one being exactly a single inch taller than the other and the second being consistently angry about this.
